Cold and snowed in

I have potatoes baking in the coals of the fireplace. The lake is froze over. I saw my neighbors out on the lake with their snow machines. Maybe they are doing a little ice fishing. I was out yesterday and caught a trout. I have that rapped in foil next to the potatoes. This is going to make a great meal. The view out my windows is, as always, spectacular. I never tire of it.
This fall I was able it get only a small crop from my garden. The produce is in my cold storage. It will be a couple of year before my fruit trees will have fruit. My garden is a funny looking thing. You would think to look at it that I was protecting munitions or something with in the double 6 ft. fence, but its to keep the deer honest. I was lucky to situate my garden behind a tall row of hedge, so you can't see the garden and fence from the lake, but it still gets plenty of sun.
The Sunflowers that I grew this summer are now feeding the birds in the area that are wintering over. My camera has been busy. Once I finish the painting of the cardinals I will post it here. Well, off to check on the trout.
