Open House.. come visit me.

I am home. I'm inviting you for a visit. Lets hang out, sit out on the deck. May be you would like to take a walk or maybe have a cup of tea and knit. Whatever you would like to do here just add a comment or email me and you will be added to the comes and goings at the lake house. Come on in!!!

My bedroom faces west

Woke up this morning with out the sun shining in my bedroom. What a nice change. I layed in bed for a little while listening to the soft plop of fish jumping out of the lake to catch their breakfast. The windows are open and I could smell the fresh, cool air off the lake. It was just cool enough in the house this morning when I woke up that I had to put on my lightweight velor robe to walk around the house. The seasons are changing. I'm on the deck having a cup of Hot Chocolate. I see that I'm going to have to refill the bird feeders. My bird feeders give me subjects to draw and paint. I spent most of yesterday up in my studio unpacking it. I so love the view, some really wonderful paintings are going to come out of that studio.

I have arrived

I have arrived! It is so good to be moved into the lake house. I can sit out on the back porch and deck and look out at the lake with the forest and mountains beyond. The great room or family room also has huge windows that look out on this spectacular scene. In the great room there is a fireplace that is made from stone from the surrounding area. This fireplace is so large it can hold 5-foot long logs. It has iron arm rods to hold pots and kettles. The hearth is raised about two feet off the floor so one can sit. The sofa is situated opposite the windows looking out to the lake with the fireplace to the right. A flat-screened plasma TV can be raised from a spot in the floor in front of the windows with a touch of a button. There are plump upholstered chairs in groups around the great room. An old time western style bar, 15 feet long sits across from the fireplace on the other wall. You can see the kitchen from a glass and mirrored sliding window on the wall behind the bar. To one side of the bar there is a door that leads to the kitchen through a hallway. Along this wall, is the staircase to the second floor. Beyond the staircase is the door that goes into the entryway. The great room ceiling goes up to the second floor ceiling. A walkway goes around three walls, with doors to the bedrooms and my studio. On the wall that the fireplace is on is a door to the outside where I keep firewood and a short path to the deck. I can access the deck from French doors by the end of the bar. My kitchen is large and well equipped. I have a wood stove in my kitchen. A center island holds a gas cook top. The window above the sink looks out at the lake. I feel so comfortable here. I just made myself a cup of hot peppermint tea and can blog on my wireless laptop at the bar in the great room.
